Role Overview
AETERNA Inspection & Technical Services is seeking an experienced Piping Engineer to join our Doha team. This role involves providing piping design review, stress analysis, and material specification verification for oil and gas projects in Qatar. You will review piping isometrics, conduct stress analysis, verify material specifications, and ensure compliance with ASME B31.3 and client-specific piping standards throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve piping isometric drawings, piping specifications, and material take-offs for oil and gas projects
- Conduct piping stress analysis reviews and verify flexibility, support, and loading requirements per ASME B31.3
- Verify material specifications and ensure compliance with applicable piping codes and client standards
- Perform piping material reconciliation and verify material traceability against mill test reports and specifications
- Conduct site inspections to verify piping installation, supports, and routing against approved design drawings
- Resolve piping engineering queries from fabrication shops and construction contractors to maintain project schedules
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Piping Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
- Minimum 6 years of piping engineering experience in petrochemical, oil and gas, or industrial projects
- Thorough knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, and related piping design and fabrication codes
- Proficiency in piping stress analysis software including CAESAR II or equivalent tools
- Experience with piping material specifications, isometric drawing review, and material take-offs
- Excellent technical problem-solving and communication skills for multi-disciplinary coordination
