Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Inspection Engineer specializing in Instrumentation to join our team in Dubai. This role involves performing independent third-party inspections of instrumentation and control systems for oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation projects. The successful candidate will verify compliance with ISA standards, client specifications, and international codes, ensuring that all instrumentation equipment meets stringent quality, safety, and performance requirements prior to installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect instrumentation and control system components including pressure transmitters, flow meters, control valves, and analyzers per ISA-5.1 and project specifications
  • Review instrument data sheets, calibration certificates, and loop drawings for compliance with design requirements and applicable standards
  • Witness and verify factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) for instrumentation panels and control systems
  • Conduct inspections of cable tray installations, junction boxes, and instrument air supply systems for workmanship and code compliance
  • Prepare detailed inspection records, test reports, and non-conformance reports with photographic evidence and technical recommendations
  • Coordinate with project engineers, vendors, and contractors to resolve instrumentation quality issues and ensure timely project delivery

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in instrumentation, electrical, or electronics engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in instrumentation inspection, quality control, or commissioning within oil & gas or petrochemical projects
  • Thorough knowledge of ISA standards (ISA-5.1, ISA-20), IEC 60079 hazardous area classifications, and ATEX/IECEx requirements
  • Experience with DCS, PLC, SCADA systems and field instrumentation including smart transmitters and final control elements
  • Strong report writing and communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Certification in instrumentation or functional safety (e.g., TUV FS Engineer, ISA CCST) is highly desirable
