Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Audit Engineer specializing in HSE Compliance to plan and conduct health, safety, and environmental audits across project sites. The successful candidate will evaluate compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and local regulatory requirements, identify hazards and non-conformities, and recommend effective corrective actions. This role is critical to ensuring that AETERNA and its project sites maintain the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct HSE compliance audits at project sites, workshops, and supplier facilities in accordance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards
- Evaluate site safety practices, environmental controls, and emergency preparedness against regulatory and client requirements
- Identify safety hazards, environmental risks, and non-conformities with applicable HSE legislation and standards
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports with findings, risk ratings, and recommended corrective and preventive actions
- Track audit findings to closure and verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions
- Support HSE training and awareness initiatives by sharing audit insights and lessons learned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE auditing within construction, oil & gas, or industrial sectors
- Certified internal auditor for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001; lead auditor certification is preferred
- NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent HSE qualification is required
- Strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations and international safety standards
- Excellent communication and report writing skills with the ability to influence safety culture
